R O M A N S    9  v 1-5

 

In. these verses, Paul endeavours to explain to fellow Jews that God sent Jesus Christ into the world to save people from sin, and  to help the Jews from rejecting Jesus. Paul was so  sincere in his teaching that he would have given his life to save them.

Moses had gone to Mount Sinani to receive the Law of God, and whilst he did so, the Jews created a golden calf  to worship. The wrath of God was poured upon them.  Moses pleaded wit God to let him (Moses) bear the wrath.

God had been good to Isreal as His special people, adopted them, gave them the glory of God giving them the Commandments, and two covenants. A covenant is a relationship entered into by two people and allows mutual profit.  He did so with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  The first covenant was with Noah as the rainbow showed in the heavens after the floods,  A further covenant was made with Jesus Christ

It s a truth that God never left men alone;  He made men and did ot abandon them

Israel could never complain about the attention given by God, He gave them the Temple and were destined for good things, but did not play  its part .There was a line of Patriarchs, with a great heritage, and above all He gave the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul devoted his life to teach the Jews and suffered at the dreadful way they pursued him  The tragedy is he strove in vain, all destroyed. 

The law of God was not broken, Paul was not broken, only the heart of God was broken.
